Solar Panels

I read an article today about solar panels being installed at a community Church.

I wondered why the community complained about the panels blocking the view. It’s a great idea to incorporate sustainability and it is definitely a step in the right direction for environmental soundness. I really couldn’t figure out how neighbors didn’t embrace a responsible decision to deploy energy savings. And the view, what kind of view can be blocked?

So, needless to say I took a quick ride through the neighborhood and saw for myself what the complaint was about. This one time I have to agree with the community/neighbors in the fact that it is blocking the view of the hills, mountains, and green scape. Although a parking lot is mainly cement coverage, once solar panels were built to resemble carports, the openness disappeared. The gorgeous mountain views located along the parameter of a golf course situated near the Church were now blocked! I really think the Church could install power savings and solar panels with a design change that takes into consideration the landscape bordering the street and community.

Here are the photos I took this morning.
